What Electric fire should I choose?
Electric fires vary greatly ins style and size check the opening of your fireplace by measuring the width of the opening usually it is 16" or 18" in a standard fireplace. Inset fires usually fit into a granite or marble insert, if your fireplace has a cast iron insert these insert fires may not suit your particular fireplace but our sales staff can advise you what will best suit your fireplace.
How much will it cost to run?
Electric fires usually have settings you can control so that you can have effect on with no heat to act as a focal point only, in this mode the fire costs much the same as a light bulb to run. In maximum heat mode a fire may throw out 2 kilo watts of heat which on average may be 40 cent an hour to run depending on your ESB bill. Please consider that 2 kilo watts is not a lot of heat for todays rooms and these fires should not be used as a primary heat source.
