What gas fire should you choose?
Balance flue fires are designed where you have no chimney and they require no additional ventilation as the appliance takes the air it needs to burn from a concentric flue. The outer flue delivers air required for combustion to the appliance while an inner pipe expels the flue gases. If you already have a chimney in the room you could use a conventioanl flue fire. Please see our seperate section for conventional flued appliances.
How much do the fires cost to run?
On average gas fires use over a litre of gas per hour to run, some use more others less and their heat output can vary depending on whether it’s a basket fire generating less heat or an inset fire radiating more heat or a balance flued fire giving optimum efficiency.Your sales consultant can work out average running costs depending on whether your gas supply is by cylinders, bulk tank or metred estate.
